Welcome to Aspens Family, Young People, Specialist Services
About Family Support
Aspens is here to help families to care more confidently for autistic individuals, with a learning disability or complex needs. We welcome all family members, whether you are a parent, sibling, grandparent or friend of someone with a disability, of any age.
We understand that finding the right information and support can be hard, we are here to listen and offer advice. We strive to increase understanding, challenge perceptions and encourage acceptance of autism, learning disabilities and other complex needs. We offer support before, during and after an autism diagnosis.
We understand the challenges for individuals who do not yet have an autism diagnosis and how confusing things can be post diagnosis. Our advice, guidance, signposting and support is on-going, for as long as a family wishes.
About Specialist Support
Aspens’ Specialist Service provides person-centred, strengths-based support for families of neurodivergent children and young people, whether they have a formal diagnosis or not, including those with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. We work collaboratively with families to build on each young person’s unique qualities, needs and aspirations, focusing on long-term wellbeing and empowering outcomes.
We offer two key approaches:
- Intervention – Tailored sessions to address immediate needs, such as crisis support or emotional regulation. This approach targets specific challenges and provides structured, goal-oriented support.
- Engagement – Focused on empowering young people who have become disconnected from education, social opportunities, and their community. Building trust and confidence, we support young people to reconnect with their goals and their community.
